Process Engineer II

Position Summary:

The Process Engineer II is a key member of the Cirtec Medical’s precision components engineering team. The Process Engineer is responsible for ensuring process design, validation, capability, and performance from launch and throughout the sustaining lifecycle. The process engineer will work with automation engineering, tooling engineering, and operations management to ensure capable processes are designed implemented to meet customer demands. The Process Engineer is responsible for process capability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced application and engineering expertise to facilitate manufacturing efficiencies and continuous improvement for flashless transfer molded rubber medical components
  • Plan, design, and coordinate the development and implementation of molding processes and related quality/engineering activities to support new and existing product development. The engineer is responsible for process capability, process performance, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Provide responsive support to the manufacturing operation to ensure that operational and quality goals are achieved though process design and controls. The engineer is responsible for the process failure modes and effects analysis.
  • Advance the general knowledge of rubber compression and injection molding techniques across departmental functions
  • Identify and research new processes and/or technologies to support cost reductions, quality improvements, and statistically capable processes.
  • Develop manufacturing work instructions that are clear, concise and understood through all levels within the organization.
  • Perform technical support to customers through phone communication, written correspondence, and customer meetings
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, process technicians, automation, and maintenance
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to include preventive and/or corrective action activities.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or related engineering field required
  • 3-5 years of practical experience in rubber compression and/or injection molding
  • Ability to perform basic and advanced mathematics using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Utilization of statistics, geometry, and dimensional tolerances.
  • Ability to apply analytical reasoning to complex problems
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet timelines
  • Ability to use graphs, charts, statistical models and data, and various analytical tools to maximize process efficiencies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Must be able to navigate and use standard Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, project, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Will be required to utilize COAST, Fiix, Q-Pulse, QAD, data acquisition systems, and any other company required software.

Good to have:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
