JOB SUMMARY
The Cirtec Medical EHS team focuses on providing training, tools, resources, and support that creates a safe, efficient, and healthy work environment. The Sr. EHS Engineer is integral to sustaining and enhancing our EHS focus. In this position, you will provide leadership, knowledge, experience, advisement, and mentorship to employees, teams, and the company to sustain and improve all aspects of safety, health, and responsible environmental stewardship.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a key advisor on EHS matters to all stakeholders including but not limited to quality, operations, human resources, finance, engineering, material handling, and facilities / maintenance.
Monitor, interpret, assess, and institute EHS regulations, policies, practices and compliance standards to meet company, state, and federal requirements.
Maintain a mentoring presence on the plant floor, influence employee and supervisory behaviors, and fully engage employees in the safety processes.
Oversee and execute EHS safety training, safety systems, safety metrics, and safety campaigns.
Provide leadership, training, and coaching to members of Safety Committees and First Responder Teams.
Conduct regular facility safety inspections to ensure safe job practices are followed, risks and improvement opportunities are identified, and personal protective equipment is available and properly utilized.
Ensure new chemical introduction protocols and process utilization reviews are completed.
Manage chemical documentation and labeling requirements and verify dispensing practices, storage and usage protocols, and waste stream controls.
Provide direction and support to incident investigations to assist the investigation team with completion of root cause analysis.
Ensure incident corrective actions, documentation, reporting and follow-up training is completed.
Lead all worker compensation claims and case management activities. Perform required OSHA 300 reporting.
Perform required EHS data gathering, analysis, and documentation for license submissions, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies, during inspections, communications, inspections, permits, and reporting.
Complies with company, quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Masters or Bachelors degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or sciences/engineering required
5 years of related experience and training.
Experience or education in maintaining OSHA, EPA and State compliance in manufacturing setting.
Ability to maintain and amend training for programs including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment, Respirator Program, Hearing Conservation, Employee Right to Know (Hazard Communication), Control of Hazardous Energy, Hazardous Waste, Emergency/Contingency Plan (includes Fire Drills), Electrical Safety, A Workplace Accident Incident Reduction, Fire Prevention, Ionizing Radiation and Power industrial Truck.
Knowledge of Federal, state, and local regulations: CAA, RCRA, CWA, TSCA, EPCRA, DOT, OSHA, NFPA, ATF, NRC, FDA, Customs, and IATA. (CAA Clean Air Act, RCRA Resource Conservation and Recovery Act i.e. hazardous and solid waste, CWA Clean Water Act, TSCA Toxic Substances Control Act, EPCRA Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act, DOT Department of Transportation, OSHA Occupational Safety and Health Administration, NFPA National Fire Protection Association, ATF Alcohol Tobacco Firearms, NRC Nuclear Regulatory Commission, FDA Food and Drug Administration, IATA International Air Transport Association )
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, online government registration and reporting programs: formulas, pivot tables, charting, inputting, developing correspondence, reporting, etc.
Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information and work diplomatically with all levels of employees in the organization and with a very diverse set of individuals
Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and organize assignments.
Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting requirements affecting EHS functions to be able to ensure policies, procedures, and reporting compliance.
Ability to maintain an appropriate balance between compassion for the employees situation and the needs of the organization. Can take a stand to ensure employees are safe and healthy in the work environment as well as ensuring business results have been met
